Field Trips

Offering educational field trips to pre-school and elementary age students is a delight for us at Irons Mill Farmstead. We believe it’s important to expose all children to agriculture as part of their heritage and their future. We can accomplish that goal in a engaging way. Bring your students to come to the area’s largest destination for fun and learning on a family farm!

When

  • Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays starting October 2nd 

  • through November 1, 2019

  • Starting at 10am (Arrival as early as 9:30am)

Teaching Sessions

Sessions are designed by age group! There are two sessions per age group and they will repeat every half hour from 10am-12pm, 

 

Pre-K through 2nd Grade

  • Pumpkins and Corn 

  • Furry Farm Friends

  • Chickens & Eggs

  • Pig Race

  • Hayride

Grades 3rd through 6th

  • Science Behind Apple Blasters

  • All About Bats

  • Corn Maze Adventure

  • Pig Race

  • Hayride

What's Included

  • Nearly all attractions on the farm will be open and functioning.  (Bat Glide, Farmstead Express Train and some food stands are closed)

  • Teaching sessions offered every half hour, starting at 10am through 12pm.  This gives you several chances to join in on the learning while still offering flexibility for your specific group.

  • Each student will receive a voucher for a small pumpkin (a $3 value). They cannot be redeemed during the field trip. The voucher can be brought back at any time during our season to receive a free small pumpkin of their choice. The students will not receive the mini pumpkin the day of the field trip.

  • As always, students will also receive a BOGO free ticket to come back with their families.

  • There is a picnic area for students to eat lunch. The area will be scheduled and reserved. Picnic table space is limited, so please only stay during your time slot.

Lunch Options 

Cost

  • $7.00/student or chaperone for pre-school, elementary, secondary schools, homeschool groups, or play groups.  

  • Teachers, nurses and school principals are free!  

  • Homeschool groups:  Person organizing the trip gets in free!

  • All groups must have at least 10 students (or pay a minimum of $70) to qualify for these rates.

 

The balance must be paid in full (in one transaction) when you arrive for your field trip.  We accept cash or official school check.
